Nele Scheers has sent me the following mail.
Was reading an interview with Manu Riche in 'De Morgen' on Saturday. (Remember the documentary about the previous Belgian king that Tom Barman chose when he appeared on 'Zomergasten'? It was made by Manu Riche.) Came across this interesting bit:
Apparently Manu Riche is working on a documentary about Tom Barman.
dEUS will play the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on Februari 28th 2006. Tickets will go on sale next saturday.

dEUS.be announced today that Tom Barman is alive and kicking again. dEUS will kick of the Dutch part of the Pocket Revolution-tour tonight in Nighttown, Rotterdam. Absynthe Minded will be supporting them.
21-10-2005 - Nighttown, Rotterdam (SOLD OUT)
22-10-2005 - den Atelier, Luxembourg-City, Luxembourg (SOLD OUT)
23-10-2005 - Tivoli, Utrecht(SOLD OUT)
24-10-2005 - Oosterpoort, Groningen
25-10-2005 - Paradiso, Amsterdam (SOLD OUT)
27-10-2005 - Effenaar, Eindhoven (SOLD OUT)
Tom and Mauro are scheduled to perfom on Flemish late night show De Laatste Show on October 25th. I wonder if they'll be there. Due to Tom's illness they're having a gig in Paradiso, Amsterdam the same night. I know that De Laatste Show is recorded at 6 o' clock in the evening, so it is possible...
If you're still hoping to get tickets for the Vorst-concerts, you better put yourself on the waitinglist. When tickets get available (for example when somebody doesn't pay within 5 days), they will contact the first people on the list.
Admiral Freebee will be supporting dEUS on a couple of dates in Austria, Switzerland and Germany. I updated it in my tour overview.
11/11 Switzerland, Berne Bierhubli(Source: Stubru.be)
13/11 Switzerland, Zurich, Rota Fabrik
14/11 Germany, Munich, Backstage
16/11 Austria, Graz Orphium
17/11 Austria, Salzburg Rockhouse
18/11 Austria, Vienna Arena
If you have tickets for the Nighttown-gig on friday you better start praying. A message on the Nighttown-website says the dEUS-gig during Rayman=Laat tomorrow evening has been cancelled. Still because of Tom's loss of voice.
It's been quite a while since I posted a list of dEUS-items on eBay. I probably missed some interesting items the past weeks, but here we go again. I only post the highlights here. The complete list is here.
- Pocket Revolution - promo cd
- Little Arithmetics - 1 track cd-single

A three part-video-interview with Tom from the Chatshow Network.
In Part 1 Sarah discusses Tom’s home-city of Antwerp, famous for fashion and Rubens. Tom is the only original member of dEUS and Sarah asks him how he manages to keep the essence of dEUS going with it’s changing band members. They discuss his favourite audiences and how he sees his music.
Part 2 is where Tom educates us on the pronunciation of the name ’dEUS’. Next they talk about
the new album, Pocket revolution, and dEUS’ new direction. dEUS has some pretty famous fans as well, REM and Radiohead being amongst them.In Part 3, Tom talks about touring England, Ireland and Scotland and how they keep on schedule
and keep changing the set list. He can’t remember all the songs he’s ever recorded – a sign of a good time I think. Sarah and Tom talk Belgium, contemporary dance(!) and rock. Check out Cheesy Dips to find out which possession Tom couldn’t possibly live without.
(thx to pale_blue_eyes)
Bad news: dEUS.be announced that tonight's gig at Paradiso has also been postponed because of Tom's loss of voice. The gig is now scheduled for 25/10.
Tomorrow's gig at De Effenaar has also been postponed to 27/10. Tickets remain valid. Check the Paradiso and Effenaar-website for info on refunds.
No news on the two Nighttown-gigs yet.
The Times is offering a free download of If You Don't Get What You Want. You have to be a registered used of Times Online to get the download-code.
(thx to Maekel)
The 7 days, 7 weeks-single is available in the UK from yesterday. You probably remember it's a different version from the Belgian release: it contains three tracks, while the Belgian single was only a two-track.
It seems there's also a four track available. It contains 7 days, 7 weeks, Wheels and Meeting You as regular audio track. The bonus track is a cd-rom video featuring performance footage recorded in the dEUS rehearsal room.
Available on Eil.com.
Nice story on Alan's blog. He went to see dEUS on tuesday and was standing next to Marie Arena, the prime minister of the French speaking part of Belgium.
Two gigs in The Netherlands have been rescheduled because Tom lost his voice. Tom already had problems with his voice on tuesday. Too many after-party's? You'd think so, if you read the Focus Knack tour-report.
Yesterday's concert at Tivoli, Utrecht will take place next sunday (23/10), while tonight's gig at De Oosterpoort, Groningen has been rescheduled to next monday (24/10). Tuesday's gig at Paradiso is not to be rescheduled. Tickets remain valid or can be returned. More on dEUS.be.
Absynthe Minded, the support act, did perform yesterday at Tivoli. According to Serpentine, who mailed me the pic on the right side, sound was horrible.
Here's an item from VRTnieuws.net about the two rescheduled concerts. And here from 3voor12.
dEUS is no longer topping the Belgian album chart. They're on spot number 2. K3 is number 1. They're still on number 1 in the StuBru 50, number 3 in De Afrekening and number 1 in Humo's Top 20.
In case you haven't noticed yet: the extra show in Vorst is also sold out. In about two hours this time. According to Clear Channel there will certainly NOT be a third show. So if you haven't got tickets yet, you better watch out for the gigs in France and The Netherlands in March.
Here's an article from De Standaard.
Update: first tickets for March 2nd popping up on eBay.
A second concert in Vorst on March 2nd is announced on Sherpa.be. Presale starts saturday at 9 o' clock.
Update: article from De Standaard (written by myself) and the official confirmation from dEUS.be
Update 2: if you added yourself to the waiting list yesterday, you should receive a confirmation mail telling you've got tickets for the extra show.
Update 3: it looks like the waitinglist is still up and running. I added myself, so i should be certain of tickets. I'll keep you posted.
Good news for the people who don't have tickets for Vorst:
- Jyves talked to Christian Pierre, dEUS-manager and father since monday, and Christian told him there will be at least one more gig in Belgium in 2006.
- Lode talked to Tom yesterday evening and Tom told him there's a very big chance they'll play Werchter this year. Not on the main stage, but in the Pyramid Marquee.
BTW: if you're getting lost in the tourdates, check this overview.
There was an item on dEUS in De Rode Loper (Eén) yesterday evening. You can look at it on VRTnieuws.net or download the video here.
Yesterday's concert was even better than the one on tuesday. I had high expectations: it was the last night in Belgium, they should have had a great day (you don't sell out Vorst every day) and StuBru was gonna broadcast one hour live (and Tom doesn't like crappy live-recordings on the radio).
They played the same songs as tuesday, just shuffled a bit with the order. Great crowd this time. I was standing a bit further away than tuesday, but around me everyone was going completely mad. Thé highlight was Suds & Soda which made the AB go crazy. One of the best versions I've ever witnessed. And of course it was great to see Tim Vanhamel and Mauro doing a guitar-duel in If You Don't Get What You Want. And Theme From Turnpike is still a fucking great song.
Tom's voice sounded still tired and they didn't play everything perfect. Stop Start Nature and Bad Timing weren't as good as tuesday and I personally think that a song as Assault on dEUS is great on the Magnus-album, but it couldn't convince me live. They started 7 days, 7 weeks but started it all over again after a few seconds.

Update: here's another AB-review and here's Jyves' one
Could you imagine this. 18 people are already selling tickets for the Vorst-concert on eBay. They're just trying to make some money on poor fans that haven't got a ticket. And of course: it's the economy, baby. If people want to give 60 euros for one ticket, there's no problem. But i really wouldn't give that much money for a concert-ticket. How much is a ticket worth to you?
You can relisten yesterday's Antenna with one hour of dEUS live in the AB here. Here's the mp3. The link will expire monday evening.
Studio Brussel will air one hour of tonight's concert live in Antenna between 21 and 22 hours. Tune in here.
(thx to Dams)
Here's a nice flash-item on the Olympia-concert from French newspaper Le Monde. Definitely worth a view.
(thx to Elise)
I managed to get two tickets for the concert in Vorst Nationaal. One hell of job since both the website of Goformusic and Sherpa were almost not reachable this morning. I tried several times to order by phone but some voice told me ordering by phone was not possible anymore. On my fifth try it did work and i could order.
You can still order through Sherpa.be or Fnac.be
Update 13.17 hour : it looks sold out. De Standaard already has an article about it.

Some audio and video footage of yesterdays show on VRTnieuws.net. And here's Jyves' review. And if you missed mine, it's here.
Update: there will be an item on the concert in Neon (Radio 1) too this afternoon. (Source: Antwerpenblogt)
Update 2 : Stubru now has reviews by Frank Vanderlinden and Jan Sprengers. I added these two to my podcast-channel.
Update 3: a review from Brussel.blogt.be
Found some pics of the Fnac-showcase in Paris and the Olympia-concert on the website of French radiostation Le Mouv.
Focus Knack has an item about the French tour of dEUS. A reporter joined dEUS from the concert in L'Olympia to the concert in Strasbourg. You can read the Olympia-review on line. There's also a number of backstage pictures.
De Morgen also has a list of Belgian bands that played Vorst.
02/11/1999: Axelle Red Sold out
31/10/2000: K's Choice - Sold out
02/11/2001: Hooverphonic
18/12/2004: Novastar - Sold out
01/03/2006: dEUS - Sold out?
De Morgen has a big article on dEUS playing Vorst today.
- For the band playing Vorst is the last challenge they have in Belgium. Tom says they will probably play the Zenith in Paris also. (It's a concert hall comparable with Vorst, I've seen Pearl Jam there a couple of years ago)
- Yo Van Saet from Clear Channel expects the concert in Vorst will also sell out because PR is a great album with a big commercial impact
- Kurt Overbergh (AB) labels dEUS as world class: they could sell out the AB twenty times, but they keep their fans hungry by playing only a few concerts in Belgium
- Dirk Van der Auwera (Universal) repeats dEUS is their most important act for the past and coming months. They did a lot of marketing: posters, listening sessions, ...
Studio Brussel had phonecalls with CJ Bolland and Tom yesterday before the AB-show. You can listen them here. I also added the mp3's to the podcast-channel.
- CJ's favorite live track is Bad Timing
- He saw them 7 or 8 times during this tour. He's going to the AB on wednesday or thursday
- Tom was not nervous for the concert although expectations were high
- Playing in Vorst was a logical step. They're considering playing in such big halls in other countries too
- He already told Pocket Revolution would be the opener of the concert
There's also a special forum on the dEUS-concerts.
Pocket Revolution was reviewed by Pitchfork Media. The album gets 7,8/10.
(thx to Jyves, Alix and Christophe)
Two words to describe yesterdays' AB-show: great gig! It's too early to call it the best dEUS-show I've ever seen, but it's definitely in my top 5. They started at 20.30 hours and played for about 1 hour and 50 minutes.
No big suprises. The setlist was comparable to other gigs during this tour. The played mainly the new album and a couple of classics.
It was the first time I saw the new line-up live (yeah, I missed the Mezz-concerts last years due to illness) and I must say: it's probably the best live line-up. Mauro was cool, doing nice backing vocals on Instant Street for example and Alan was more inspired then Danny (for example in Fell Off The Floor, Man).
They looked a bit nervous in the beginning and they had some troubles with the sound (Tom's voice from time to time drowned in the wall of sound).
One surprise: they did play 7 days, 7 weeks (something they skipped during previous concerts). Tom apologised for his voice (tired, he said) and that's probably the reason why they didn't cross the line of a two hour concert.
The only thing I'm disappointed about was the lack of enthusiasm from the crowd. There was some cheering in between the songs, but there's were almost no people dancing or so. There was a small pitt during Suds & Soda, but that's all.

Studio Brussel is giving away the last tickets for the dEUS-gigs in the AB. Not on line, but on the radio. So you have to listen here.
There's an interesting article in today's Gazet Van Antwerpen.
- In Flanders about 30.000 people have bought PR. In the rest of Europe about 60.000
- The Ideal Crash had the same sales after a month
- There were plans for a fourth AB-show, but it was cancelled
- dEUS will return for a Belgian concert in springtime
- They're also going to Russia, Turkey, Iceland and Israël. And South-America.

- The three concerts in Greece have been moved forward one day.

Studio Brussel had a short phone conversation with Tom very very early this morning (in Lille). They rang him because Anyway the wind blows will be shown on Flemish television tonight.
You can listen to the conversation (in Dutch of course) by replaying Wim Oosterlinck's show from this morning and skipping ahead to 1:13:18. If you want to hear it, you'll have to do it today!
Main news I think is that he only plans to release his next movie in about 5 years, as he first wants to tour and release more records with dEUS!
(thx to Nele)
It looks dEUS will tour again in March. During the concert in Nantes, Tom told they'll be back in France in that month.
