There's a two page interview with Rudy Trouvé in Humo today. He talks about the link with dEUS being mentioned in every single interview with him. He says he had some problems with that the first years after he left the band. And he also thinks the link with dEUS isn't that big either. Steve Albini once asked him if there was any guitarplayer in Belgium that hadn't played with dEUS...

The link is not a big deal?? yeah, right! Morticiachair, Hotellounge, Let's get Lost...are there any songs from teh first 2 albums where Rudy's guitar does not play a big part in it?? The boy shouldn't be so modest sometimes. He played his part he left dEUS moved on and more important so has he. And that is teh way it should be but he should not deny his role in the growing process of such a great sound. Credits due when real and that is the case for the first 2 albums.
But in 2008 journalists should have know better than talking about something that happened 11 years ago...

It must be annoying for him to always be reminded of this; when he's been part of so many other musical projects, so many incredible collaborations , but i guess & i hope the journalist & Mr Trouvé did not only talk about what this blog is talking about :-)
Btw, is there a forum where we talk about the whole alternative musical belgian scene????
We would have much more interesting things to talk about, i am sure...at least, we woud have other perspectives & we could put in context!!!
