Looks like dEUS's love affair with the police knows no borders. The band was to headline the European evening of the South by Southwest festival in Austin TX, a major 3-day showcase festival during which more than 1,500 bands play all around the city. But technical difficulties meant that dEUS had to start playing after the curfew. Well into the concert, 8 policemen surrounded the soundboard and demanded that Vincent, their sound engineer, cut the power off. Encouraged by the crowd, Stephane kept drumming, which led to the band being forced off the stage by the cops. But Tom says that even though that was a nuisance, they managed to keep cool about it, and could eventually play another 45 minutes. The SXSW showcase was dEUS's first appearance in the United States since 1997.
