What did really happen in Austin last week? Was dEUS forced to leave stage by the police? Harry Buys mailed me a blog entry from Callipyge, a Texan-Lebanese, french speaking woman went to see Girls in Hawai, Syd Matters and of course, dEUS in Austin at Spiros Patio. She doesn't mention any trouble with the police though. Here's a report from someone who apparently was in the organisation and explains why things kinda went wrong.

(here's an article from VRTNieuws.net about the incident)

I didn't see any cops come on stage.
But dEUS did not (could not?) start playing until approx 2:00 AM and Texas happens to have VERY RETARDED liquor laws. You can't serve alcohol after 2:00 AM and this means bars are supposed to close.
I did see cops as I was leaving Spiro's patio, but they were all in the bar area.

As we say in Holland: "Always those Belgians..." ;)

I've heard about it on the Belgian news. Your gig being cut short by the police is pure Rock and Roll, you can't wish for a better evening!!
