  • He thinks the new dEUS-record is fantastic
  • The second album of The Love Substitutes is finished and should only be mastered.

There's an interview with Tom in this week's Humo. Tom talks mainly about his appearance in Zomergasten.

  • he calls himself a haphazard man: someone who is zapping his tv all the time
  • Tom met Connie Palmen (who will present Zomergasten) at the birthday-party of Hugo Claus
  • During the recording sessions of the new album they all watched Het Geslacht De Pauw on sunday evening. There could even be a piece of the program on the new album
  • The new album is being mastered by the guy who mastered Hotel California by The Eagles.
  • About the band: ,,I have a fantastic group. We look intercool.''
  • dEUS will tour for about a year, so we can expect them on next year's summer festivals.

Tom Barman will be interviewed by Connie Palmen in a dutch tv program called Zomergasten on July 31st.

It's kind of exceptional that someone of Flanders is invited for the program. The show is aired since 1988 and only four Flemish people were invited before Tom: Hugo Claus, Lieve Joris, Kristien Hemmerechts and Tom Lanoye.

  • Tom is single at the moment
  • After the tour Tom will do another movie. He'll be writing during the tour.
  • The new album is back to basics.

Tom has been selected to present his favorite movies to in the Arenberg-cinema in Brussels during the Ecran Total-festival.

Tom selected The Exorcist (William Friedkin), Happy Together (Wong Kar-wai), M (Fritz Lang), The Servant (Joseph Losey) and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (Joseph Losey)

below is the text Tom wrote about his choice.

Dank u Arenberg. Enjoy !

Tom Barman

Tonight U2 will kick off the European leg of the Vertigo-tour in Brussels. De Morgen organised a little poll and asked musicians for their favorite U2-song.

One came out as the number 1 and this is what Tom has to say about it. ,,One is a classic. The song is so good compared to the other U2-albums.''

Tom also talks about New Year's Day (number 3 in the list). It brings him back to his youth when he frequented 't Varken in Zwijndrecht. ,,New Year's Day is a pure dance classic''.
'New Year's Day' is een pure dansclassic."

Craig Ward on his blog:

,,What with a combination of fine weather, Rudy being completely knackered and Mauro finding himself catching up with the rest of his life during his first Deus-activity-free week in ages (I refuse to further acknowledge typeface conceits), every day just kind of got abandoned.''

For those of you who haven't noticed: the two dEUS-shows at the Ancienne Belgique are completely sold out. It took only 90 minutes to sell 4.000 tickets. An extra show on october 13th was added and sold out immediately.

If you didn't manage to get tickets for one of these shows, you can always try eBay or consider a trip to The Netherlands or France.

After the release dEUS will hit the road. The first leg of the tour (France and the Benelux) has also been announced. The second leg will features dates in the UK, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.

Presale for the two Belgian concerts will start tomorrow at 11 o'clock. Lift your lazy ass and grab a phone or surf to the Ancienne Belqique or the Goformusic-websites. Back in 1999 the three dEUS-concerts at the Ancienne Belgique were sold out within a few hours.
